In 1920 the grandfather of the namesake Faustino Marianelli left the tannery L’Orologio, where he was working as a manual worker, and decided to open a tannery on his own.

During his period all tanning processes were done exclusively by hand.

The fundamental ingredient for the tanning process was extracted by hand from the chestnut, the skins were dipped in bathtubs for weeks, and weather permitting, the tanners hung the skins on the external walls of the tannery until they were completely dry and then transported in carts pulled by oxen.
